Privacy Policy

1. Who I Am

This mentorship is provided personally by Sarath G, an individual, of Souparnika, Karakkad PO, Chengannur, Alappuzha, Kerala, India – 689504. It is not operated through a registered company or other business entity.

Folio (folio.sarathg.me) is the platform I built and operate to run the mentorship: scheduling, class materials, assignments, hour tracking, and invoicing.

In this document, "I" and "me" refer to Sarath G, personally; "you" refers to the student or applicant, or, where you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian.

2. What I Collect

Information you give me: name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, timezone, and postal address; platform handles you choose to share; your background, occupation or education, session preferences, and learning goals.

Information generated as you use the mentorship: scheduling, session, progress, and hour-balance records; assignment submissions, deliverables, and session notes; invoice and payment status records.

Payments themselves are processed by Razorpay. I do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details.

I collect only what I need to run the mentorship and the Folio platform.

3. How I Use It

I use your data to:

• create and administer your Folio account and student record;
• schedule, run, and follow up on mentorship sessions;
• track your progress, hour balance, assignments, and materials;
• raise, send, and collect payment for invoices;
• communicate with you; and
• meet my own legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

I do not use your data for advertising, and I do not build any profile of you beyond delivering and administering your own mentorship.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

I process your personal data because it is necessary to provide the mentorship, and on the basis of the consent you give when you apply, make a payment, or otherwise use Folio. Where I rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting me.

5. Who I Share It With

I share your data only with the service providers I use to run Folio and the mentorship:

• Razorpay, for payment processing.
• Google, via a private Apps Script bridge I operate, for calendar events, Meet links, and email delivery.
• Cloudflare, for hosting, database, and file storage.

International transfers. Some of these providers may process or store data outside India as part of their own global infrastructure. I do not otherwise transfer your data outside India or to any third party. I never sell your personal data.

6. Storage, Retention & Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure and protected by access controls specific to your account role. I keep your data for as long as needed to provide the mentorship, plus any period required afterward for legal, tax, or accounting record-keeping.

7. Your Rights

You can ask me, by emailing sarathg.alp@gmail.com, to:

• access the personal data I hold about you;
• correct it if inaccurate;
• erase your account and associated personal data, except records I am legally required to retain; or
• nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf.

I aim to respond within 30 days.

I will acknowledge a grievance promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days. You retain your right to approach the Data Protection Board of India or any other competent authority.

9. Cookies

Folio uses a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. I do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies.

10. Data Breach Notification

If a data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, I will notify you and any relevant authority as required under applicable Indian law.

11. Children's Data

Folio is intended for use by adults. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must apply and consent on your behalf, in line with Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. I do not use any child's personal data for behavioural tracking or targeted advertising.

12. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Policy as the mentorship, Folio, or applicable law changes. I will notify active students of any material change.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The courts at Alappuzha, Kerala, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this Policy.
